Using spices imported directly from India, the Palace creates traditional
Eastern entrees that spice up the palate. Featured items include tikka masala,
where your choice of meat is grilled and served with a buttery tomato sauce.
The lunch buffet is offered during weekdays, with more than 20 items to choose
from including tandoori chicken and panner butter masala. Delivery available.

NIRVANA INDIAN CUISINE

Nirvana, Uptown's only Indian restaurant, offers a plentiful lunch buffet,
or, if you prefer, order off the menu. Hearty entrees include the lamb Sikander
(thinly sliced and sauteed with tomatoes and garlic) and the Malai kebab (chicken
breasts crusted with cashews and spices, then roasted over hot coals). Reservations
recommended for parties of more than five. Lunch and dinner Tuesday through

TAJ MAHAL INDIAN CUISINE

As one of only two Indian restaurants in Metairie, the Taj Mahal has carved
out a comfortable niche for itself. Customers keep coming back for the ample
and affordable lunch buffet, and regulars swear by the curry dishes and tandoori
specialties. Try the shrimp bhuma, where marinated shrimp are grilled and served
with onions, peppers, tomatoes and fresh herbs and spices, or sample the wide

To sample the offerings of Tandoori Chicken's Indian cuisine many opt for
the lunch buffet. The 16-plus items available encompass a wide range of chicken
dishes and vegetables, with the namesake tandoori chicken always available.
The grilled chicken tikka and tempura veggies are favorites off the regular
menu. On Sundays, the buffet includes lamb, shrimp and a housemade rice pudding.
