The Great Outdoors
Kelsey's (see Restaurant Review) patio deck is now open for the short outdoor dining season, in time for The Dining at Dusk promotion: three-course dinners for $19.95, available Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Mo Pho
The owners of the local Vietnamese restaurant chain Pho Tau Bay (113 Westbank Expwy., Gretna, 368-9846; 1565 Tulane Ave., 524-4669; 3116 Arnoult Road, Metairie, 780-1063) won't stop until the entire metro area appreciates a good pho (beef noodle soup) and knows how to dress a bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwich). The fourth Pho Tau Bay is slated to open in August in the former location of the French-Asian restaurant Cafe Indo (260 N. Carrollton Ave.).

Pet Project
A woman walking into Bobo's (4411 Magazine St., 269-3237) last month announced, "I tried the pizza last night, and it tasted just like pizza." Fair enough, except that Bobo's is a pet bakery, and the woman had tasted a pizza-flavored dog biscuit. Bobo's owner, Cindy Hardegree, wasn't as shocked by this pet owner's admission. She and her husband ran a similar store in east Texas for years, where they met pet owners of all sanity levels and developed many recipes -- from Sherlock's Bacon & Scrambled Egg biscuits to Snickerpoodles. Hardegree makes the treats with all-natural ingredients (you may enter to the smell of chicken boiling) and flax seed, which Hardegree says successfully fights pet allergies. In addition, she crafts designer pet jewelry, food and water bowls, carrying pouches, pet TV dinners, biscuit mixes and birthday cakes.

Market Watch
In conjunction with this Thursday's Crescent City Farmers Market, Jon Smith of Cork & Bottle (3700 Orleans Ave., 934-1386) will play host to New Orleans Rum's master distiller from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Stop by the shop to sample summertime rum drinks, as well as the entire New Orleans Rum line and food from Partysist caterers. Meanwhile, vendor Susie Banck of Windfield Farm Bakery will prepare the Green Plate Special for Tuesday's farmers' market, and Chef John Calon of Cafe Atchafalaya will conduct Saturday's 10 a.m. cooking demonstration. The Tuesday market is at 200 Broadway St. and runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Thursday market is at 3700 Orleans Ave. and runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Saturday market is at 700 Magazine St. and runs from 8 a.m. to noon.
