2000 Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon
California $11-$15
A blend of 84 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 9 percent Merlot, and 4 percent each Malbec and Petite Sirah, the 2000 vintage was blessed with moderate weather which contributed to the slow, even-ripening of the grapes. Aromas of ripe black cherry and raspberry with nuances of cedar and spice are followed by red fruit flavors and toasty oak on the palate. Good with grilled or roasted meats, fowl and game. Available at Whole Foods Market (Uptown), all Sav-A-Centers, selected Winn-Dixie locations, Robert's Fresh Market on Robert E. Lee Boulevard, Meme's, Sidney's, Lakeview Fine Foods, The Wine Seller, Prytania Liquor, both Martin Wine Cellar locations, Dorignac's, Ferro's, Langenstein's in Metairie, Rouse's #14, Breaux Mart on Severn Avenue, Cost Plus World Markets, Cellars of River Ridge, Habano's in Slidell, Acquistapace's Covington Market, Hugh's Wine Cellar, Wine Down and Albertson's Northshore stores.
