GALA CHARITY TASTING EVENT. New Orleans Intercontinental Hotel, La Salle Ballroom, 444 St. Charles Ave., 309-1920. Proceeds benefit Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation's School-to-Career Program. The evening features a wine-tasting contest judged by local food and wine writers and wines from all five continents. Tickets $100. 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL CONCERT. The National D-Day Museum, 945 Magazine St., 527-6012, ext. 226. In remembrance of 9/11, a program featuring the Texas Children's Choir of San Antonio will perform classical and patriotic songs. Free admission. 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

A TIME OF REMEMBRANCE. Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave., 670-2520. Community event with unique approach to commemorate 9/11 tragedy, with a focus on meditation and reflection, open to people of all religious persuasions. Activities include a Labyrinth, Taize music, yoga, a color guard presentation and readings with mission to "establish New Orleans as a leading force searching for sanity in a world gone mad."
