Cain Cuvee
Napa, California
$19-$26

Cain Cuvee combines three grapes and two vintages in this silky, supple, ready-to-drink wine. The baby brother of the distinguished Cain Five, this cuvee is 61 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 24 percent Merlot, and 15 percent Cabernet Franc, with 98 percent from the 2000 vintage and 2 percent from 1999. Grapes were sourced from premier Napa vineyards, including Cain, Spring Mountain, Diamond Mountain, and along the Oakville and Rutherford benches. Cherry, berry fruit aromas with oak notes are followed by currant and black cherry flavors. Good with roast chicken, duck and grilled meats. Available at Cork & Bottle, Elio's Wine Warehouse, Vieux Carré Wine and Spirits, Joe's French Quarter Wine Cellar, Martin Wine Cellar Uptown and Metairie, Dorignac's, Langenstein's in Metairie, Cellars of River Ridge, Habano's of Slidell, Acquistapace's Covington Market and Hugh's Wine Cellar in Covington.
