Septemberfest?

Bella Luna (914 N. Peters St.) is among the restaurants firing up for a busy fall season. In fact, Oktoberfest starts early this year at The Foundry (333 St. Joseph St.), Bella Luna's special events venue in the Warehouse District -- at 7 p.m. this Friday to be exact. Schnapps, "oom-pah" music and German chef Horst Pfeifer's bratwurst, schnitzel and Black Forest Cake will get the party rolling. Tickets are $60. Call 529-1583.

More Fun With Suds

The Crescent City Brewhouse's (527 Decatur St., 522-0571) Beer Fest scheduled for this weekend is a similarly spirited celebration. Chef Mark Latino will break out the Vienna Schnitzel, the potato pancakes and the freshly baked pretzels to match Brewmaster Wolf Koehler's beers, as well as beers from other local breweries and wines from Bavaria. Live music will entertain diners during lunch and dinner Friday through Sunday.

Dog Friendly

Ask your pooch out to Marisol's (437 Esplanade Ave., 943-1912) patio party at 5 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 20. Free snacks for all the four-legged guests.

Good Taste

Andrea's (3100 19th St., Metairie) is the site for this year's Jefferson Beautification/Parkway Promenade fundraiser. "A Taste of Italy" will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21. The event includes Italian music and dancing, a live auction, wine and feasting. Tickets are $60 per person by reservation (call 737-7583) or $75 at the door. Proceeds will help beautify LaSalle Park.

'Tails, You Win

The Southern Comfort Cocktail Tour fetes its one-year anniversary this Thursday and Friday with a roster of events -- some academic, some purely indulgent -- that salute the cocktail in New Orleans. "A Toast to History," open to the public, will kick off the two-day affair at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Brennan's Restaurant (417 Royal St., 525-9711). Other scheduled events include "Cocktail Hour," a book-signing and cocktail-sampling party; "Spirited Dinners," to be held at various local restaurants; and a first-year birthday cake bash. For more information call 299-0404 or visit www.southerncomfortcocktailtour.com.

Market Watch

Add the Culinary Vagrants' pad Thai to the roster of prepared foods now available at the Thursday evening Crescent City Farmers Market. The Thursday market is at 3700 Orleans Ave. and runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Call 861-5898 or visit www. loyola.edu/ccfm.
