WINE OF THE WEEK
|
12 02 03 |
2000 Montimore Estate Pinot Noir
Willamette, Oregon
$9-$14
A "best buy" and highly recommended
wine, this Pinot Noir is produced from 100 percent estate-grown grapes in the
Willamette Valley. Aged in about 50-50 new and old barrels, the wine rests primarily
in French oak. Inviting aromas of black cherry with earthy notes yield to sweet
layers of ripe red and black cherries, blackberry and chocolate, with nuances
of light oak, pepper and vanilla on the palate. Pairs well with a variety of foods
including baked chicken, roast pork, sesame tuna, grilled salmon, roasted vegetables
and pasta dishes. Available at Meme's Market, Cork & Bottle, Elio's Wine Warehouse,
Vieux Carré Wine and Spirits, Dorignac's, Cellars of River Ridge and Wine
Down in Mandeville.
