Purchase Bicentennial recreates the signing of transfer papers at the Cabildo
and the hoisting of the American flag for the first time over Louisiana Purchase
lands. Living history experts in period dress and uniform portray French, American
and Spanish soldiers and politicians, plus a drum and fife band, will recreate
