By Kandace Power Graves Photos by David Richmond

Cute and Cocky -- Give her something to crow about with blown-glass spotted roosters in a variety of sizes and poses: small and medium, $16.50 each; large, $30; from Chez Nous Charcuterie (5701 Magazine St., 899-7303).

Heaven Scent -- Fill the house with lovely scents and pretty sights with effusion lamps such as a squat, multi-color version or one with blown-glass flower designs on it by La-Tee-Da, $52 each. They release fragrance with a wick-and-stone burner design that puts off no more heat than a candle and no smoke. From Gentry (6047 Magazine St., 899-4223).

Traditional Favorites -- Women love to get flowers and candy, especially when the flowers come planted in a tabletop garden, $12.99; and the candy is an assortment by Russell Stover that is wrapped in pearlized paper with flowers that will never die, $9.99 each; from Lakeview Fine Foods (801 Harrison Ave., 482-7333).

Lighten Up -- Shed some light on your love for mom -- and make her surroundings a little more fun -- with cloth hanging lamps such as this yellow one with triangles of netted, mirrored circles, or an orange version with strips of red metal circles by Sha d' Lei, $43.95 each, light kit included; from Bliss Day Spa and Shop (200 Metairie Road, Metairie, 828-1997).

Think Pink -- Mom will feel feminine and shapely in a pink mineral-wash stretch cotton/Lycra hip-hugger pant and matching scrunch zipper-front hoodie by City Lights, $58 each piece, from Priorities (8128 Hampson St., 861-8780).

Nature's Passion Color -- Multiple strands of red and pink branch coral are accented with sterling silver twigs in the Europa Reef Collar, part of jewelry designer Mignon Faget's Corall Collection, $800, from Mignon Faget Ltd. (3801 Magazine St., 891-2005; 333 Canal St., The Shops at Canal Place, 524-2973; 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Lakeside Shopping Center, Metairie, 835-2244; www.mignonfaget.com

Fashion in Full Bloom -- Bestow a different bouquet of flowers on mom and watch her get tickled pink with a pair of wedge thongs with dangling crystal flower ornaments by The Yellow Box, $50; a pink leather handbag by Hobo, $69; or brighten up her day with a straw purse of yellow, orange and green flowers, $46; and wood-sole shoes with bright flowers painted on them and sequins on the thong straps by Woodies, $42; all from Shoe Envy (785 Harrison Ave., 488-6832).

Picture Perfect -- What mother can resist flowers, especially when she can wear them and look beautiful and stay cool? Wrap up a butter-colored V-neck dress with a twist-front bodice, beige-and-brown flowers and a ruffle hem by Cut Loose, $88; paired with bronze high heels with a black snap-strap decoration on the back by Steve Madden, $54; from Gae-tana's Maple Street Clothing (7732 Maple St., 865-9625).

Sweet Hearts -- Dainty, sterling silver hearts embellished with 18-karat gold leaves by jewelry artist Alix Blüh will warm any mom's heart: necklace, $176; earrings, $201; from Belladonna Day Spa and Shop (2900 Magazine St., 891-4393).

Sexy Mama -- Let your mom know she's still hip and beautiful with a brown floral V-neck halter dress by Angie, $34; and an assortment of sheer mesh and lace panties by Honeydew, $10 a pair; all from Funky Monkey (3127 Magazine St., 899-5587).

Improving Perfection -- Looking her best will be easier with a few cosmetic aids that not only are utilitarian but fun: a set of brushes for every makeup need in a convenient black wrap bag by Paula Dorf, $150; nourishing sugar lip treatment by Fresh, $22.50; a compact of six "Painted Lady" lip colors, by TINte Cosmetics, $32; Index tangerine lychee cologne, $61; and eye balm that restores firmness and moisture, both by Fresh, $65; all from Make-Up Art (7736 Maple St., 862-0005).
