Fleur de Lis Awards
This year's winners were selected by a team of wine professionals hailing from the Gulf Coast area. Judges, led by a Master of Wine, included restaurateurs, sommeliers, retailers, members of the wine media and experienced consumers. The more than 300 entries were each tasted multiple times, with judges aware only of the grape (varietal) from which the wine was made. After the initial medal winners were chosen, the Gold Medal Award winners -- which remained unknown to the judges -- moved on to the Best of Show competition. Each honored wine receives a Fleur de Lis medallion of the appropriate metal with a red, white and blue ribbon.
