2003 Casa Lapostolle Sauvignon Blanc
Rapel Valley, Chile $13-$16
Grapes for this delightful and refreshing wine were sourced from vineyards in the Rapel Valley in central Chile's prime growing region. The wine's intense aromas and flavors were spiked by four months aging on the lees following fermentation in stainless steel vats. A blend of 90 percent Sauvignon Bland and 10 percent Semillon, the wine's fresh, aromatic bouquet yields to bright fruit flavors of citrus, grapefruit and melon with smoky, flinty nuances. Good with fin and shellfish, Asian and Thai food and soft cheeses. Available at both Martin Wine Cellar locations, The Wine Seller, Dorignac's, Robert's Fresh Market on West Esplanade Avenue, and Hugh's Wine Cellar in Mandeville. (Store listings current at press time.)
