Celebrate the one-year anniversary of Disegno (4537 Magazine St., 894-6605) with a sale throughout April featuring 20 percent off all merchandise except final clearance items.

Em's Clothing & Accessories (246 Metairie Road, Metairie, 834-2795) opened in Old Metairie a couple of weeks ago and has a cool selection of women&185;s clothing with a hip edge, including beaded blouses and skirts, halters, casual wear and more.

Angela King, a managing partner at the respected Hanson Gallery in the French Quarter, a week ago opened a second exhibition space, Hanson|King Gallery (532 Royal St., 556-8240; www.hansonking.com), where you&185;ll find original artworks, prints and sculptures.

Stop by to sip champagne from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16, during a reception for the 'Uptown Exhibition' art exhibit by Artina, featuring 11 local artists, at Hugh Martin Home (4222A Magazine St., 899-1882)

Imelda's Fine Shoes (244 Metairie Road, Metairie, 833-6240) just opened a spacious new store in Old Metairie, offering discounts on the latest designer shoes for women.

Loa at the International House Hotel (221 Camp St., 553-9550) and Robert Normann jewelers have come up with a gem of an idea: people who buy drinks at the bar between 5 p.m. and midnight Saturday (April 16) can register on a special cocktail napkin for a chance to win a loose diamond close to a half-carat in size. Each drink you buy gives you another chance to enter. The winner will be announced at midnight. The event will be repeated once a month throughout the year.

Save 30 percent on Italian cast-marble and limestone and other accessories for the home and garden during a moving sale at Roman Capital (116 City Park Ave., 486-8800).

Uptown Eyecare (3640 Magazine St., 899-3937) is moving to a new location around the first of May and is now offering 50 percent off a large number of eyeglasses frames and sunglasses. The office will double its space when it moves to 4004 Magazine and plans to expand the lines of glasses it offers.
