Kids Flags Concert
By
Frank Etheridge
Children of all ages, music-lovers and thrill-seekers are invited to Six Flags New Orleans' 'Kids Flags Concert,' an event featuring arguably the two biggest names in local kiddie music: the Imagination Movers and Amanda Shaw. Scott Durbin, Rich Collins, Dave Poche and Scott 'Smitty' Smith, the four men comprising the witty and highly danceable Imagination Movers (pictured), have already achieved enough fandom to perform arena-sized shows, as they did in 2004 at UNO Lakefront Arena to celebrate the release of the CD Calling All Movers. A Cajun fiddle phenom still in her teens, Amanda Shaw has grown into a pop princess, delivering to local audiences as well as festivals across the country a stylized show far beyond her years but relevant to her stellar talent and infectious energy. The concert takes place in the park's Goodtime Garden, near the Looney Tunes area. Free with park admission of $34.95 adults, $24.95 children less than 48 inches.
