2002 Azagador Cosecha
La Mancha, Spain
$9-$12

This easy-drinking, value-priced wine from La Mancha, Spain's large central wine region, is blended from 80 percent Tempranillo and 10 percent each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Aged four months in half-and-half new French and American oak barrels, this light-to-medium-bodied wine offers red berry aromas with vanillin notes followed by bright cherry and strawberry flavors with peppery overtones. An unfiltered wine, stand the bottle upright for a day before serving since it may throw sediment. A good accompaniment with all types of meats, sausages, cheese and pate, roasted vegetables, rice dishes, pasta and salads. Available at Cork & Bottle, Bacchanal and Cellars of River Ridge (Store listings current at press time.)
