The National D-Day Museum Fifth Anniversary

Having grown over its five-year history to now serve officially as 'America's National World War II Museum,' the National D-Day Museum will celebrate its fifth anniversary of the date of its grand opening. June 6, of course, is also the date marking the Allied invasion of Normandy, a battle that began the march to liberate Europe. The D-Day Museum has a full day of activities for the occasion: cake, the unveiling of a new exhibit, Living History Corps displays, and a choir performance. Active and retired military personnel with ID and their families, plus all Louisiana residents, receive a special discounted admission price. The new exhibit is Many Nations: One God, a study of the various Allied powers' contributions throughout history. The Texas Children's Choir, which sang at the 60th anniversary events in Normandy last year, performs at noon in the Louisiana Memorial Pavilion, with a cake-cutting ceremony to follow.
