From the same family that owns SpainÕs Freixenet sparkling wine, Gloria Ferrer, on the Sonoma side of CaliforniaÕs Carneros region, produces delightful, affordable sparkling wine. Made from a blend of 87 percent Pinot Noir and 13 percent Chardonnay, this smooth sparkler exudes elegance and complexity. An appealing effervescence emanates from the glass along with floral, pear and almond scents. On the palate, lively apple and citrus flavors dance in unison with toasty notes on the refreshing finish. A wonderful aperitif and versatile accompaniment to shellfish, sushi and triple-cream cheeses.
