There's plenty of good news for fans of neighborhood restaurants. Many local favorites have recently reopened, like Mandina's in Mid-City, Willie Mae's Scotch House and Dooky Chase in Treme, Rocky & Carlo's in Chalmette and a cluster of restaurants in Lakeview.
Fans of fine dining also have plenty to explore in familiar spots because the deck has been reshuffled. French master chef Rene Bajeux moved to the Northshore and La Provence; chef Jarad Tees went from the French Quarter to LÜke in the CBD; after several years at La Petit Grocery, chef Anton Schulte opened his own Daisy Bistro Uptown; and after a long hiatus, chef Greg Sonnier is cooking for locals again, but downtown at the New Orleans Grill.
