Anyone who enjoyed the bundle of short dramas in the Beignet Plays (in Le Chat Noir's one-act play festival) will want to check out the Root [Cel.lar] at the Alamo Underground. It's also a collection of brief and unrelated one-acts that share a common setting " in this case a basement. Many of the same writers and actors are participating. Authors include Pete McElligott, R.J. Tsarov, Michael Aaron Santos, Jared Gore, James Bartelle, Gabrielle Reisman and Andrew Larimer. The vignettes dig into a range of subjects and moods, often darker and more absurd than the Beignet Plays. Tickets $10. "— Will Coviello
