The Sty of the Blind Pig
A blind busker opens the eyes of a tight-knit family living on the south side of Chicago in Philip Hayes Dean's modern classic The Sty of the Blind Pig. Set on the eve of the Civil Rights movement, the play begins as the mysterious stranger knocks on Alberta's door. She's an unmarried woman in her 40s living with her mother Weedy and their frequent guest Uncle Doc. Blind Jordan claims to be looking for a woman he once knew, and above the objections of Weedy and Uncle Doc, Alberta lets him stay. The classic story was remade for both television and the silver screen. Anthony Bean directs Pat McGuire Hill, Gwendolyne Foxworth, Wilbert Williams and Donald Lewis. Tickets $18 adults, $16 students. " Will Coviello
