Gulf South Regional Contemporary Art Exhibit: New Works by 24 Gulf Coast Artists

Ambitious new projects have been popping up with unusual frequency in this city's art scene of late, and now the latest among them, the BECA Gallery, has uniquely established itself as the first truly serious art space to be based on St. Joseph Street. If it's location across the street from the Contemporary Arts Center seems like a natural that was somehow overlooked for way too long, its exhibition schedule displays similar logic, spotlighting emerging international as well as area artists. It's current Gulf South Regional Contemporary Art Exhibit features works such as Ty Dimig's Target (pictured) as well as other new pieces by talents the gallery directors consider 'some of the most engaging visual artists in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida working in 2-D and 3-D media today."
