Having traveled around the country working on TV and movie sets for the past few years, Gomez-Duplessis decided to set up shop at home in New Orleans and now offers services — makeup application for weddings and special occasions, airbrush makeup, eyelash extensions, brow shaping and more — by appointment. For more information, call 895-2319 or visit www.bgdmakeupartistry.com.

A new shop in the French Quarter, Pop City (1127 Decatur St., 528-8559) offers "an eclectic and inspired collection" of fashion and accessories for women and men. On a monthly rotating schedule, local artists will display their work at the store and take part in the Pop City T-shirt Project. Half of the proceeds from each artist-designed, limited-edition T-shirt will go to the artist, and half will go to a local charity of the artist's choosing.

Local Whole Foods Market stores (3420 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, 888-8225; 5600 Magazine St., 899-9119; www.wholefoodsmarket.com) have teamed up with WWOZ 90.7 FM to exclusively offer the station's beloved Mango Freeze, which until now has only been available at the Fair Grounds during Jazz Fest. The 12-oz. frozen treat retails for $3.99 at both Whole Foods locations. For every unit sold, $1 will be donated to WWOZ to support its mission of keeping local music on the air.
