• Put a mantel in the living room to create a fake fireplace.

• Make a table out of an antique cypress door.

• Build cabinets or bookcases out of reclaimed wood.

• Make a shelf by putting a board on top of two recycled corbels.

• Turn a piece of a iron fence into a pot rack — hang it from a chain and hook your pots on it.

• Use terra cotta roof tiles as edging for a flower bed.

• Use a window sash as a frame for a picture or mirror.

• Turn an old pallet made of hardwood that doesn't rot into a wall planter for herbs and flowers.
