The restaurant attached to the jazz club offers a menu of steaks, seafood, burgers and sandwiches. The fish Marigny is a fried drum fillet topped with Gulf shrimp and Creole cream sauce. New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp features shrimp sauteed in their shells in a spicy sauce of butter, garlic, rosemary and cayenne pepper. No reservations. Dinner daily. Credit cards. $$
Blue Nile was the first bar to offer live music on Frenchmen Street, and is a staple of the block. Grab a drink, relax and listen to the tunes of regular players Kermit Ruffins, Washboard Chaz Blues Trio, Micah McKee and Gravity A. Open Tue.-Sun. Smoking allowed. No food.

The Apple Barrel is one of the smallest barrooms on the Frenchmen Street strip, but that doesn’t prevent it from scheduling two bands per night. The bar is low on frills but easy on comfort, with a handful of barstools and tables offering a view of Frenchmen through the storefront picture windows. Located in the building where Abita's beers were brewed until 1994, the restaurant and bar offers Abita's lagers, ales and root beer as well as some brews available only at the brew pub.
