We're engaged ourselves and have considered covenant marriage.. although I recently read an article on about.com where a woman here in LA was in a covenant marriage and despite having a restraining order against her abusive husband, could not get a divorce because he did not want one. She was mandated instead to 2 years of marriage counseling. That's scary. We're not religious, we just wanted it as a symbol of how deep we feel the commitment... but in the face of that kind of outcome, no thanks, we'll take the regular marriage.
