Re: “St. Charles Surgical Hospital: Wholesome Treatment

I have the BRCA1 mutation and my mastectomy/reconstruction is scheduled for January. I've had the opportunity to meet several women who have gone here for their PBM's (Prophylactic Bilateral Mastectomey) - the results are amazing. They look much the same as 'real' breasts, with some scars. I've spoken to so many women who have gone here and have yet to hear even one negative about these doctors and their facility. To me, deciding to have this surgery is hard enough, it's wonderful to know that I don't have to worry about waking up with a butcher job. I have complete faith in these doctors and their staff. Whether the doctors are male or female, to me, doesn't really have anything to do with it. They are qualified, have done hundreds and hundreds of these procedures on women all over the world and their reputations speak volumes. It's why I'm willing to travel all the way from California to New Orleans for this.. Having this surgery is a big deal - I only want the best to do it.
