Seventh Ward born, 7th Ward bred and when I die I'll be 7th Ward dead.
Thanks for reading and chiming in, P-town Princess! And OMG wait. Y'all have BEACHES??!!?!? Don't make me come Uptown. :) Shout out to Pelican Thrift musician!
I love me some flats! Those look super cute and non-Crocky.
El Mesquite Grill is one of my favorites, too. That cowboy soup is soooo good. And I've never heard of Vince's, but I'm totally willing to try.
This might sound strange, but I'm considering bringing print outs of the restaurant guide forms to my favorite/everyone else's favorite places and helping the restaurant owners fill them out so restaurant guide can be more inclusive.
Very few of my favorite/my fellow native's favorite restaurants were in here, and since restaurant guide IS open to every restaurant in the area we cover (Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and St. Tammany), it wouldn't hurt for us to encourage them to get listed.
This is just a story about them being open, Chris. It's not a food review. I'm sure they are delish, though. They are potatoes with sauce, so I think they kinda can't go wrong. :) Hopefully, I'll get to try some [of everything!] before the weekend.
RIP Ben & Jerry's of the French Quarter and of Metairie.
I got really excited at first, thinking this was a parade with a "Family Ties" theme. I'm forever Mrs. Alex P. Keaton.
I agree y'all, the whole Facebook factor can be a real deterrent. Especially for the old school folks y'all mentioned who are making some of the yummiest gumbo. Hopefully the kids/grandkids/friends of the old school folks will film them and have all the new school folks like their videos on the Face Space.
