Seventh Ward born, 7th Ward bred and when I die I'll be 7th Ward dead.
Thank you, Gaynell. The Vallets closed their shop, but the lady on Allen Street charged about 50 cents, I think. I remember being shocked at the price still being so good.
Jeanie, my fellow New Orleans native, you've made me comfortable admitting my shame. I cannot pop unless I'm upside down with my feet on the wall. Big Freedia once said in a video of her classes that the key is to practice in the mirror. Another tIp: My best friend would pull up her shorts by her hips so there was more wiggle room.
@Sbpfred and @Brittanie: It's embedded and has been since I posted it. You should be able see it with any browser and on Gambit's mobile site.
@Doctorobert: Let the joint burn down! :)
@Brittnie: Thought that was him! I wonder if his Wobble skills have improved. Every time I'm confronted with a public Wobble situation, I get nervous and confuse it with all the other line dances.
(For the record, I studied last year's cop Wobble video and this one and made sure they were different.)
@Tamiko Same here!
It worked for me using Firefox and Safari. Kept messing up with Chrome. FWIW, a few days ago I couldn't hear anything on any website when I was using Chrome.
Let me know if you still have trouble.
Oops, sorry about that. It's how they were spelled in the photos given to me and in the documentary's website, so I assumed they were accurate.
We all know what happens when we assume. :o).
Fixing them for you right now.
It's being screened at the Algiers Regional Library (3014 Holiday Drive) on Wednesday the 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Hope this helps!
Yeah, it probably would have been easier but, as you know, I suck with maps. I know how to get to a bunch of places, but only because of landmarks and memory. Maybe it's because so many of our streets don't have signs haha!
