Fill the hotels bitches - chow down, drink up. We need the cash.
As an aside, it is also time for the city to reassess these so called "driveways" though out the FQ. Most are complete BS and strictly become private spaces for the buildings. If you can't actually DRIVE a car into your building then the no parking thing should go away. This would add some revenue but of course would tick off some of the rich folks and lord knows Landrieu isn't going after them.

Shaya is fine but all these "awards" and lists seem to keep dredging up the usual suspects. The reality is so much different. We have great chefs all over NOLA doing beautiful and innovative work but until they get into the loop of names used over and over for these lists they will toil in anonymity.
Not too bad - kinda uneven though. Great drinks!
No, you don't pay ROOM tax (as a hotel or BnB does); you don't pay Sales Tax; you don't pay for inspections such as Health, Fire, etc.; You don't pay for Permits. So STOP your BS that because you get a "1099" you're paying your fair share. Typical clueless nonsense.
It would be GREAT if you paid taxes like the rest of the industry. Oh, and it would also be nice if your neighbors had some say in the matter. I imagine if someone wanted to put a hotel in your hipster "bywater" y'all would have a freaking heart attack.
I had NO IDEA old Al was still kicking!! Good for him. I miss his commercials and every time I drive down N. Broad (1826) I look for the old place - now a fancy drugstore I think!!
