Fill the hotels bitches - chow down, drink up. We need the cash.
A great neighborhood joint - much better since the prima donna Dominque moved on to his other (and other and other) place. If you live anywhere in the neighborhood I highly recommend giving Appoline a try.
The 2nd is in the PERFECT location!!!! Rebuild the old building and leave it the heck alone!
It is very strange to hear the bipartisan powerful types tell us how this collection of data is "good for us". (only bipartisan thing heard from congress in 6 years). I am a progressive democrat and am stunned by this brazen violation of our privacy. While deeply disappointed in the President, particularly his remarks on how transparent the entire procedure is (seriously??), the reality is we have a huge private-government economic interest in expanding these types of ridiculous and unnecessary programs.
For the first time in my life I hope my children decide to emigrate in search of a better life. The reality is America is no longer the "shining beacon on the hill". Freedom is a far more important concept in a greater number of countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Iceland, Canada, etc. etc. It is a sad time for America.
Not sure why anyone would be surprised at this development. I also expect the school yards to contain serious levels of lead.
My company was approached regarding the CJ Peete redevelopment and I was astounded by the lead levels in the soil - hundreds of time the federal limits in the playground area. It wasn't until the housing was to become "mixed use" that anyone woke up and cared.
Lead has no threshold for brain damage - the relationship between exposure and damage is linear. Is it any wonder kids raised in these projects and public schools have a hard time learning??
I have brought these documents to the attention of several of our illustrious "investigative" media outlets in NOLA but unfortunately they were more interested in other stories. Young African-American kids who can't learn might have a bit of social impact. It's not as exciting or glamorous as "locking 'em all up" I suppose but repairing the problem might be a small part of the solution to some of our social ills.
Hilarious to see all the T-P employees trolling on the Gambit boards today!
please don't lump nola in with soulless places such as nyc. that's problem one with the new yanqui invasion - it didn't work in 1803, 1862 nor 2005. we are what we are - thank you very much.
Ooops - conscious (head off the language police at the pass!)
