Re: “The News at 5

Fill the hotels bitches - chow down, drink up. We need the cash.

Can't wait! Martinis and Music. Without those a-holes at that hotel they are in now! Yeah!

Re: “Del Fuego Taquera opens

Not good. Have a lot of hope for this place BUT they need to step it up. The chef needs to take a look at Yelp (I know Yelp sucks but...).

Re: “The battle of St. George and Baton Rouge

What a red herring - 60% of properties in Orleans pay no taxes - I call BS. Where did you pull this figure?

Re: “Busy Canal Street bus stop lacks infrastructure for riders

Wow! I had no idea that corner was a "hub". Always assumed it was just for a line or two going out Rampart and up Canal. Maybe one or two of the 60 MILLION spent on the streetcar to nowhere could have been used to create a proper facility. What a shame. Just goes to show where the city's priorities are. If the rich and powerful (or let's say the NFL maybe??) were rising the bus, this BS would have been fixed a long, long time ago.

Re: “Ten parade tips for members of dance and walking krewes

Realizing the Pussy Footers have been around for a while but it seems that since the storm there has been a never ending growth of awkward looking old lady and men "dance" groups with pun-type names proliferating in NOLA. I know they all want to be part of a parade but it would be real cool if some of these adults would pony-up the cost to actually JOIN a real Krewe and ride the floats. I think Alla had more old people dancing groups than actual riders. The Krewes can't exist without people paying dues and for the permits and throws. Otherwise we'll eventually wind up with Spanish Town (BR) style, or worse Philadelphia's Mummers style, parades.

And not to be a complete debby downer on all these older-dancing groups but the crowds IMHO just really don't dig it much. 610 Stompers caught lightning in a bottle though!

Re: “Eve Abrams' Along Saint Claude audio documentary airs 7 p.m. Tuesday on WWNO

Looking forward to this! Concerned that the producer is herself a newcomer and will therefore have a sunnier view than others but will keep an open mind. (On the other hand, I am of the mind that we need to jack-slap the hipster out of some of these do-gooders!)

The real question is how many of these folks will be here in 5, 10, or more years? Once they start producing little hipsters will they high-tail it back to NY and the comfort of Mommy and Daddy?

Re: “Review: Apolline

A great neighborhood joint - much better since the prima donna Dominque moved on to his other (and other and other) place. If you live anywhere in the neighborhood I highly recommend giving Appoline a try.
