I gained an appreciation for things I should have appreciated all along. I "lost" my entire family for 7 days. When I finally "found" them, the destuction of my house meant very little. I learned that "stuff" doesn't make me happy. I relocated for a while and realized how I love my city. I could never willingly live anywhere else.
