I understand what you are addressing in your account of parentless children. However, I would like to share my story with you. My wife and I are both college educated healthcare professionals, responsible and loving parents. Our son, the eldest, now 20, dropped out of school after 2 attempts to get him through 9th grade. He later obtained a g.e.d. through the LA National Guard Youth Challenge Prgm. His younger sister, now 17, became pregnant while still 16 and she is now a hs senior. They both attend(ed) fine New Orleans Catholic schools and had parental guidance and love at home. What would you like to do about their parents? Can we be excused on the basis that we tried though the outcome is like you describe in your story. I have experienced great distress for some time now. Go ahead and cast your stones. Please explain what you suggest to do about parents who do not raise their children?
