Re: “Endymion place-saving: Five days out

Ridiculous… Mardi Gras is about "everybody" having fun. Used to be a just go out and catch the parade, meet the neighbors, meet new people, enjoy and have fun. Now those GREEDY NASTY people that wants to own the parade have to seat and save a place for 4 days, fight, be angry, be territorials, take all the space they can that belongs to the public; AND ALL OF THAT FOR WHAT???

Re: “New Orleans City Council committee green lights short term rental study

That's the right thing. Tourism in New Orleans keeps GROWING and it is the main produce of the city. STR has always been targeting a different group of costumers and not specially a competitor of the BIG HOTEL CORPORATIONS, even so, hotels in New Orleans are usually 100% booked most of the time. I know there had been some issues but as anything else need regulations and all of our cooperation. Why we don't ask the city or government to regulate hotel's fares too? is it not ridiculous a hotel in New Orleans to even charge $600 room/night AND MORE on a HOT New Orlean's holiday? Who can afford it other than the upper class? If New Orleans doesn't have STR, SO people will DEFINITELY go on vacation somewhere else. Also, STR are nothing new and been in the market for ever... maybe even before hotels existence. It's always been an option for families, classmates or group of friends. WHO HAD NOT DONE ONE EVER? Maybe some of us live in the wrong city and should be in a city where the tourism is almost none? We can't fight the progress but the city should take care and advantage of it.

Re: “Short-term rental committee hosts contentious public meeting on enforcement, action

Big Hotel Corporations working ($$$) things out and people biting their venom too. That's why they won't heard both sides.

Re: “Airbnb in New Orleans

Agree with Mr Crispino. Short term rsntals bring a lot of people to the city that otherwise will go somewhere else .It's A LOT of positive things short term rentals bring to a city. It's not happening only in New Orleans, it's all around the world and it's nothing new, don't know why so many people upset. I remember renting an apartment or house with my family 20 years ago, so what's wrong?. It's a different group of people who go to hotels or go to private properties. I can't afford hotel's rates specially if traveling with my 6 group family. When it's just me or me and my spouse we go to a hotel. Hotel rates in New Orleans are abusive, who can afford a $600+ /night room during Mardi Grass or special holidays? And nobody control them, of course they are the Corporations.
