Real estate prices are paralytic and unnatural. It's crucifying us.
I think one thing you'll notice is that those "metropolitan areas" do not have any real cuisine of their own (they don't). To us, it feels like either or. It's not that I don't like the food, I love it, but it feels like pure novelty to me. I prefer when other cuisines meld with ours, as Vietnamese is slowly doing.
@hmph yes it is far weaker. An Italian or really anyone from a coffee loving country would spit out just about any espresso in town. Kaldi's and Borsodi's made very fine espresso. PJ's used to.
Well, actually I think Jindal has the state exactly where he wants it to be. In a few short years the only higher ed in LA will be tech schools. LSU BR has about 15% of the liberal arts programs that were offered when I attended - the early 90's.
