New Orleans is VERY fortunate to have Jose Maria Cundin, my favorite painter in America. I visit the Gallery Bienvenu every time I go

To Americans who pay attention and who know who the unethical Koch brothers are, dumb-as-a-duck Jindal does not represent Louisiana well in the national spotlight with his Koch-like policies. His war on the poor and the elderly lowers the quality of life for all of us. That he is even talked about as a player on the national stage further reveals how morally bankrupt the GOP is. Louisiana can do much better than Jindal or Vitter.
I had an open mind about this project until I finally saw the awkward, generic design that might be a good fit for San Jose, Houston or some other car-centric city/suburb but is a bad fit for the Marigny, a national treasure with a human scale that all New Orleanians can enjoy. Cummings does not have to scrap his project, he just has to find a more suitable site in NOLA such as the wasteland waiting for development near City Hall and the 'clarinet' Holiday Inn. If there is any future development in the Marigny, it should at least speak New Orleanese with 21st century fountains, balconies, greenery and people spaces. I do not live in the Marigny but I support its residents who appreciate NOLA's beauty and who do not like this proposal.
dirty or not, I would rather die in New Orleans than live in Dallas.
