13 exemplifies the whole of New Orleans in a tiny, dimly lit bar that jumps or cruises along sluggishly dependent on the clientele of the moment, The food was as good as what we had in the Crowne Plaza, the prices and the service better when we popped in for some mid-day refreshment. The bartender was friendly and unobtrusive in service yet there whenever we needed anything.
I love the way New Orleans appreciates and embraces the joy in every day things - whether that is food or music or relationships. The food is wonderful, the history important and the people welcoming but it is the "LIFE" in everything there that grabs hold of one and gets in the blood. Things in New Orleans can only be found there( they can be transplanted but just aren't the same) and the composite is a reality that seems surreal. We LOVE NOLA and can't wait to come back!
