The smoking ban had nothing to do with Olivier's closing. I am surprised it was there so long.
So TurboTax pays for silly (but funny) ads that demonstrate no understanding of New Orleans, the French Quarter, or Carnival while they hike the price of their product and reduce its functionality. Smooth move Intuit.
Palmer's Jamaican Restaurant was there for a short time before The Joint. Only 1 signature drink and it's made with Malibu and Midori?
Hey, Gabrielle was not destroyed by the Federal Flood following Katrina: it was on Esplanade Ridge, after all, and got less than a foot of water. Which is why Santa Fe opened there, because it took little renovation. Greg chose not to reopen because he wanted a bigger, Uptown location. It was not a battle with the City that prevented his opening Uptown--rather, it was his battle with the neighbors, including Eddie Sapir.
I place my credit card on the table in plain sight, the waiter (or someone else) picks it up and returns with the check and the credit card voucher. This generally takes 10 minutes at most. If there is an error on the check, it will be 10 minutes more, but that is very rare. I do like the handheld CC machines and a savvy resto could use an iPhone with a card reader.
