You are doing a GREAT job at reporting a true vision of New Orleans. We aren't all jazz bands and second lines. We are like any urban city gritty, smelly and scary. But, we are also, uniquely cool and you do a FABULOUS job of pointing out ALL the aspects of this city. I can see how the old dogs hating on you gets you down but, PLEASE keep your youthful perspective and don't sweat it. The people who comment do not pay your salary. If Gambit likes you, and they better, you are gold.

Did you read this quote from the University's president? (Savoie pointed out that the classes already existed before the minor was created and that adding the new minor to ULL’s 100-some other minors cost the university nothing.) So, no cost to the taxpayer and where does Mr. Landry get his info that it "fails to provide and economic benefit to the participants?" This minor might make the difference when a graduate goes looking for a job.
