I agree with circleson. There are simply no laws that give any type of priority to bikers. I was on my bike crossing a pedestrian crosswalk when I got hit by a car (the lady was talking on her cell phone and didn't see me) and my bike got ruined and I got hurt. Fortunately it was not serious. When the police arrived, they told me it was MY fault for crossing the street on a pedestrian cross. They told me that I should have crossed in the middle of the street so that if someone hit me it wouldn't be my fault. It doesn't make sense. Then, since I have no "bike insurance" I had to pay the lady out of my own pocket because her car got a minor scratch, and I had to buy another bike because mine got ruined.
