The Cult Of Chris rears it's ugly head once again.
Chris DeBarr is a great chef who is doing his own unique thing over at Green Goddess, there is no need to try and credit him with work that is not his own. Chris is doing very well for himself creating fantastic food at the Goddess.
I understand that many people feel a fierce loyalty to food that they personally connect with and the people who make that food, however, "LeoFoodGal's" comment is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with "food culture" in the age of Yelp, ChowHound and all of the various "everyman" review sites.
Rather than honest, knowledgeable reviews of cuisine, we are inundated with snarky comments from "foodies" who lack even a rudimentary understanding of what they are sticking in their gaping maws.
The SOLE item remaining on the Delachaise menu from the days of Chris DeBarr is the spiced walnut accompaniment on the cheese trays. If these nuts are "all of the best dishes on the menu" at a bar whose is regularly lauded by critics and customers alike, then the state of dining in our city is in serious disrepair. I don't think this is the case.
