@twilliam - Gagne - psychology, Hownes: physics, Wigner: physics, Smalley: physics... these people have absolutely no expertise when it comes to biology. Not only that, but off the cuff comments about the subject does not equate to emperically-based, peer-reviewed research. Evolution has hundreds upon hundreds of articles that demonstrate it happening across the entire spectrum of life, and intelligent design has precisely zilch. Ms. Bachmann is a lawyer, yet she doesn't understand that the foundational principle of law that the burden of proof ALWAYS lies with the plaintiff and not the defendant applies in the laboratory as well as the courtroom. Poking holes in evolutionary theory (which is usually done with much disingenuousness) doesn not and will never prove intelligent design. Intelligent design has to be proven on its own merits and the research must be peer-reviewed and confirmation bias must be eliminated. When that happens, I will give ID a chance, but until then it needs to stay far, far away from the classroom.
