Well, "Idrivetrotters" if it were just exposure to the mouth breathing "locals" it would definitely go out of business, just as everything worthwhile here has gone out of business. Thankfully, this town has enjoyed a migration of more sophisticated people as of late. It will do well.
This is stupid. It sucks, but the Saints have no one to blame but themselves for this. Try to be an adult, please.
Although some of the posts here are softly amusing, none of these contrivances of foggy intellects obscure Cummings' genius, which shines through like flourescent spray paint on glazed brick. Cummings correctly understands that the arts - especially great art - can only be produced in an atmosphere of comfort and leisure. If anyone can name a single great art work produced under duress, strife, or discomfort, you may have free use of my pooltop swipe card for a year.
But Cummings' life works are only the first baby steps towards a completely transformed New Orleans. Now that rents in New Orleans are finally coming into parity with other "hip" metropolitan areas, more established developers such as myself are taking notice. New Orleans is the new Manhattan, not just a vacation spot. The intersection of New Orleans culture and a more sophisticated entrpreneurship was inevitable and will produce a scene so dynamic and vibrant it will have its own Wikipedia article.
Of course, New Orleanians - well, we're all "New Orleanians" but I mean locals who were born here - won't get left behind, either. Of course, the cheaper rents and prices of the outlying neighborhoods will become more and more attractive, but you'll still be hired to drive those beautiful vegetable trucks and horse buggies, I assure you. You should be as excited about this as we are - there's nothing but profit for everyone.
Not only should we snigger at them we should crucify them.
Those facebook posts are funny?
Re: “cibugnù: new Sicilian restaurant at the Leonardo address”
Just like the Marigny Ball Pit brought the community together and raised awareness of blight down there in that awful neighborhood, I hope that this new restaurant brings new awareness of fancy restaurants and / or Sicilians.
