Re: “Mimi's in the Marigny suspends live music

Same thing is happening in Austin, TX. People have moved into the condos in the downtown area where there has always been live music and then they start complaining. I say, if you don't like music, go live in Oshkosh or Hoboken, not New Orleans, the city of music, but some people will always complain, it's their M.O.

Re: “A day at Buku 2013

I live in the Bywater two blocks from Poland. The BuKu was at the Convention area, that's not only on the other side of the Ms River, but quite a ways. I could hear the festival like it was next door, that's loud and I love loud, but that's dangerous loud and I doubt the City will put up with that again! Tune it down kids!

Re: “The Marigny streetcar

This is kewl however sharing a track with traffic on St. Claude during rush hour will be a big joke and what pray tell are you going to do about the train, let everyone sit there for 45 min chewing their cud? These are good questions that need to be answered. St. Claude is already dangerous and slow in the morning, now add the train and a streetcar and you've got the recipe for disaster. Please guys, use your brain and think this out first!

Re: “Getting Ready for Super Bowl XLVII

I wonder when the city will tell the residents that even with all the inconveniences we have suffered with street closures, the Loyola streetcar will not be finished till May, now please be honest and tell them that NOW! We deserve it as we as citizens, tax paying are treated like second-rate citizens in our own city, so please Mr. Mayor, the truth is necessary and now!

Re: “The Fight to Save The Times-Picayune

MarthaB, not everything revolves around money. The Newhouses wouldn't budge and sell, so they will get what they asked for, nothing. I am thrilled at the way this turned out and I did buy a subscription and I will boycott which I detest anyway, their classifieds are bogus. So, hats off to Baton Rouge and RIP Newhouses and TP. We will have a 7-day paper whether they (Newhouses) like it or not.

Re: “New Orleans City Council to NOLA Media Group: publish seven days a week or sell

No, I would think that the City of New Orleans has the right to demand a 7-day newspaper and I hear there is another paper interested in coming in here and publishing 7 days a week. So, I say, if the TP owners won't sell, poop on them. If we have another 7 day paper, the TP will simply fade and die and good riddance to the Newhouse family. We don't need no stinkin 3 day paper! Everyone can buy the new 7 day paper and use the TP for mullet wrappers!
