I went to the Saints/49ers game in 1989 at Candlestick. This game was on a Monday Night, was moved to the later game in the Season because of the Earthquack that Struck in October. Back in those Days Joe Montana was the QB and the Saints fans wore bags. It was horrible then, as it seems to be now. Those fans have not changed. My Mom and I, then living in Sacremento and native New Orleanians, were decked out in our Saints Gear, and our sign read "We know what it Means to Miss New Orleans" were the only one in a sea of Red and Gold. We were taunted the entire game. The score was 31-13, of course the 49ers won, and we were laughed at and ridiculed. On the way back to the car, My step-father, in his 49er jacket, was asked why he couldn't marry someone form CA. It was horrible, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I know there can be some crazied football fans, but to just act that way is horrible. Unfortantally the fans were just taking after their team, because they acted the same way on the field. I was excited for SF this year, having a year like the Saints did a few years ago, but after Sat game, I lost respect for them, the team and the fans. Go Giants, at least their QB is from NO and knows how to be respectful.
