To Velo: The Gulf of Mexico becomes an International body of water only after it crosses the outer continental shelf (OCS). Which means from the shore to the OCS it is not an international body of water. JFYI
To Acey49...I don't care one way or another about the Bill introduced to rename the Gulf of Mexico, but I do have an opinion about you. Southern bastards have more class than any damn yankee I've ever met. Most of the ones I've met are ignorant, arrogant, bigoted, classless, cold, mean people with a chip on their shoulder....just like you. Yep all these descriptions fit you to a tee. I don't even have to see you to read you.
Re: “Hey Blake, When were French and Spanish no longer the predominant spoken languages in New Orleans?”
My mother was born in 1924 in Paulina, La. about halfway between N.O. and B.R. She told me that even though they spoke only French at home, they were forbidden to speak anything but English in school. So I'm guessing the English language was the only language that was allowed beginning in the early 1920's.
