I was born April 13, 1936. If a 68 year old brief memory can be trusted, I was 8 years old in 1944 when my father drove me and 1 or 2 of my siblings along Franklin Ave. toward the lake. Near the lake and at the spot currently occupied by a stadium, he pointed to a compound behind a high fence and told us the men moving around in the compound were German prisoners of war. Nowhere have I yet found any document to support my memory. EDWARD N. HAAS, HAASWOOD, LA.
