Finally some coverage with facts and not just politics! Way to go Mr. Woodward. I really hope more people get to learn what it means to lose the tolls and help to fight to keep them asap!
There is no plan to fund that 19% that's needed to maintain and police the bridge. Last week during the Transportation Committee meeting at the capitol, DOTD said there would be NO additional police for the CCC. Yesterday, there was news that police would be provided, but this is merely a proposal, not an amendment that has any teeth or ability to get funded. Also, during that Transportation Committee meeting a senator thought our legislators were not thinking clearly about letting a funding source go - he has roads crumbling around his bridge, so it's currently closed while he waits for his projects to be next in line.
Additionally, I believe that the CCC Commission has had it's problems, but I understand that the past few years have been corruption-free and we know where all funds are going. DOTD actually reprimanded Senator Connick for continuing to blame past deeds and not move on with the matters at hand.
