Matt, in the above comment, is correct - I'm an entrepreneur and creative soul who recently moved into the Rice Mill Lofts and no one, no one who lives here owes anyone an explanation as to WHY we live here, and I for one do not appreciate the authors attempt at muzzling us through riducule. I choose to pay $4000 a month (dirt cheap, in my opinion) because most of the six shotgun-type homes I recently purchased in this joyous swath of Bohemia you call the Bywater are undergoing renovations and lead remediation. I'm designing several local enterprises including a boutique voodoo shop (Voutique, get it? look for it soon!) and a pet-oriented entertainment / creativity center ("Pamper Park"). This city has more potential than any other boutique city I visited - the culture here is deliriously empowering to a creative type such as myself.
When I moved there were so many lofts to choose from it made my head spin - the last time I was here, in 2006, to scout opportunities, there might've been only two or three. I finally settled on Mr. Cummings fantastic development, the Rice Mill Lofts, due to his keen dedication to creativity and entrepreneurship.
