1) "More than 3/4 of homes on the private rental market need repairs" SOURCE??? The The GNO Fair Housing Action Center. CONSIDER THE SOURCE!! I have no faith in this group. THEY are the ones who will drive up rents and push people out even more since they seem to have carte blanche in making housing policy for Mitch.
2) This story reads like a suggestion box from the worst of the worst examples Gambit could find. Not ONE mention of these conditions in MOST PARTS OF THE CITY. The bigger complexes will, and SHOULD, fight tooth and nail against this.
3) People will leave this City. It's too expensive as it is, and we're sick of these stupid policies coming from Mitch and his gang at the Fair Housing Action Center.
I hate to hear of anyone losing their job that didn't deserve it. Having said that, it seems nola.com got rid of the right areas. The prep sports was useless, and I can only hope nola.com's front page won't be littered with tens of Saints and LSU "articles" on Mondays now. James Varney got marginalized years ago, no fault of his. Alison Fensterstock? I can't say I didn't see that coming. Keith Spera needs another entertainment writer to help him, but maybe someone without a slant to every piece like Alison seemed to have. I love the local burlesque scene, but David Lee Simmons drove that into the ground like it was the only thing New Orleans had. I wish them all the best, nola.com included.
Fourrewhatever, she's a freaking reporter. What do YOU know about the situation??
I guess this article would mean something if the author actually committed a crime and was issued an ankle monitor.
This reads like a high school report on a tour of a jail.
