Re: “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales

This was a favorite book when my sister & I were growing up. A great show for the young at heart to share with the young ones.

Re: “Interview: Sonya Thomas, competitive eater

She is better than I am. Just the thought of slurping down multiple dozen oysters in 10 minutes has me cringing. Good luck to her. I believe I'll take my time & enjoy a dozen with crackers & sauce.

Re: “Fried Chicken Festival added to the New Orleans fest schedule

Can't wait to see which restaurants will be included. What a change for a city that once had no decent fried chicken places. Sounds like a fun event & my mouth is already watering.

Re: “The Count: the hourly wage one needs to make rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Orleans Parish $18.52

Trying to find an affordable place to live is as hard as finding a safe place to live these days. Wages won't go up & rents won't come down. I understand that property taxes & insurance rates drive landlord expenses up but something has to give so people can afford to stay in the city where they work.

Re: “Review: Bacobar

I haven't had a chance to try Bacobar yet but the brisket bacos & shrimp & bacon pad thai have my mouth watering. Covington is really starting to evolve with its dining options. There goes my New Year's resolution about dieting!

Re: “Review: The New Orleans Series

I wasn't aware of Dylan as an artist but his work seems as complex as many of his songs. A trip to NOMA has gotten added to the list of things to do.

Re: “Louisiana’s tech industry: Reality or virtual reality?

I would love to see more tech jobs in the area with competitive pay. The Atlanta tech job market is amazing both in opportunity & pay so it makes moving back to Louisiana almost financially impractical. Here's hoping that things will improve soon.

Re: “Former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal attempted to cut federal food stamps in his final days in office, leaving it up to Gov. John Bel Edwards to remedy

Is anyone surprised by this? It doesn't affect his ability to have food on the table in his new $817,000 house. Maybe the hungry people he could have helped should show up there & ask what's for dinner.
