I'm with "Participating in democracy" here. Stephanie Patrick and Jeff Sadow are basically saying, "Don't vote for this amendment because it only protects nursing homes." But to vote down this amendment will open up anyone to taking this money and using it to make up for ANY part of a budget deficit, regardless of whether or not it aids the elderly in ANY way at all. I say we should pass the amendment, and once the funds allocated to serve the elderly are protected, it can be determined how those funds should best be used.
