Seriously, are you really that bitter that you are claiming that people donating millions of dollars is one of this country's major problems? I agree that increased funding is not the sole solution to our educational shortcomings. But let's not kid ourselves; it is an absolute necessity. Of course we need to fight for children when it comes to education. We need to improve so many aspects of our education system, so the last thing that we should complain about is a huge donation from some billionaire. How are we supposed to get involved? Well we can start by making education a priority at home. A child's education begins at home with the parents. We can also donate time and/or money. Parents should be highly involved in their children's education. Parents need to make sacrifices and put in the time to teach their children. Not all parents can spare equal amounts of time, however. That is where the school systems come in. We rely on our teachers to provide our children with the best education possible. Good schools and teachers require funding, which makes donations extremely important. A good education is priceless. You seem to dismiss Goldie Hawn's efforts to contribute to our education system, yet that is exactly what we need. Let's think logically here Karrie, Goldie did not write any kind of school program herself. Although, you really should not make such snap judgements and assumptions about people's knowledge. Goldie is a parent so she probably knows at least as much as yourself about the education system. I feel that celebrities have a moral obligation to use their fame for the good of society. Lending your name to a worthy organization is a great way to do that. The foundation uses her name, not her research. It's like George Foreman...he doesn't actually design grills. You really should educate yourself before you start criticizing donations, which will greatly surpass any contributions your ever make in your entire life. You misspelled "intellectuals" and "wastes!" Seriously how can you talk about education reforms? I hope you don't have children.
