Having worked in the food service industry I tip well, I only ask for the minimum callbacks & if busy just eye contact to make sure everything is ok. But if it's not busy & you're nowhere to be seen or I have to hunt you down I won't leave a tip. I may even speak to your supervisor.
I know people who won't tip if something is wrong with the food - I still tip since I'm tipping for the service of bringing my food & drink.
If I order drinks from the bar I leave a separate tip for the bartender too.
I don't like the idea of tip sharing since some do slack & some truly enjoy their jobs & work hard but, again, I still tip &the hope management gets rid of the slackers.
